The ever first marathon I participated requires me to get a hotel room reservation.
I always consider the venue that takes place as regular marathon always flags off as early as 7am depends on the running category. Not just the fee, I must make sure I can reach before time.
Back at the end of September, I got to know from a buddy who die hard of Garfield, also one of my childhood comic character, wanted the marathon T-shirt.
Since Garfield Marathon will be held in December, which is plenty time ahead. Thus, I did a
1. Find the most suitable route to venue and kit collection [green]
2. Research on the nearest, affordable price hotel at specific location making sure there's room available, [green], hotspot dine and recreation activities [optional] then

[ The Challenge ]
The only tiny problem is that I need to mentally prepared to walk approximately 1 hour 15 minutes distance (9-11minutes by car) to the event before sunrise and walk back again with an unknown forecast to complete the whole [ ADVENTURE ].
The actual day.
7 December 2024, Saturday
I struggled with unfinished work. Yet, I must prepare to depart at 12.54pm

I arrived at LRT station. I was hit by period by accident, after all i checked my last month which supposed to be around 11th or 12th, but it came much earlier than expected. I had no pads, and underwear front soaked with fresh blood. Luckily I still have toilet paper prepared enough for the whole trip.
Decathlon, Puchong is a small mall with big Lotus supermarket and a few franchised restaurant and local stores. It was still early to depart, so I went a little shopping to prepare food and drinks for breakfast. Then carefully pick healthy food day before the run.
4.15pm _ 5.15pm
The LRT ride continued until Putra Heights where I took a 9 minutes Grab to IGo Hotel.
It was a jackpot that I book early. The hotel is fully occupied. There, I key in ID scan and phone number at a kiosk machine with a RM50 deposit and collect my room card a d receipt.

The stairs. It's a 2-storey hotel. My room is on the 2nd floor. No lift. The room is spacious, but windowless.
With King-Size bed, 2 bath towels, cloth hanger, aircon, a small table and chair, a wall TV, a sunset picture frame and 3 suits plug with one no power.
Flask, TV remote and two sets of tea cup. The rest are my food supplies.
The shower room with soap, toothbrush, and toilet paper amenities,
Things I'm glad that I brought along is
1. Extension cord (the room's light are quite dim on the socket side.)
2. Soap (there's hair in a brand new soap)
3. Tea packets x2 (hotel no provide, but provide hot and cold water dispenser at corridor)
4. Toilet paper (hotel no resupply, very little left)
Trying out the disposable pillowcase. It fits on normal pillow. Any size thicker than this will not fit.
I went for a stroll around the area, I found many eateries and mini marts just walks away.
The delayed work... I had guilt.. I didn't sleep well, because of the stress and temperature I guess. Gladly I bought water 💧 to stay hydrated.
[ 8th December 2024, Sunday - The Garfield Marathon ]
4.30am, I ate the bun and multigrain soy packet drink for breakfast. Dress up and depart at 5.34am.
The Mosque before sunrise.
The Mosque at daylight
Just a random photo along the way
Estimate arrival time be 6.48am.
As I walk, I can smell burned rubber as I walk, I guess that comes from aeroplanes. I could see planes not far distance, and the stars in the Night sky are much visible here. The street lights guided me, anywhere no touch by light were pitch black.
The Starbucks before sunrise and daylight

The Tik Tak Toe

The sticker I got from playing mini board games before flag off.
One of the few Group Photo area.
6.40am, earlier than expected. There's still plenty time for me to enjoy some little board games the event organizers provided, tik tae toe, puzzle, and find match games. Then some photo taking.
7.15am -4KM flag off.
7.56am my finish time.
I chunk down bun and water and I departed back while others still running. Well, sorry. It's gonna take me longer time to walk back hotel.
9.18am I'm back to the mini town.
Slept after shower and laundry. Woke up 12.54pm, trying to concentrate my work but couldn't. So I went for lunch, picked the corner restaurant for its nasi lemak mutton and chilling teh tarik. I did some sketch, Returned hotel 3.39pm. Fierce storm came soon after.\

I thought of working at Starbucks, but.. the table just isn't fit enough for my workstations. So I decided to continue my work when I return. LRT SR... I received boss message again about my progress... I really hoping he didn't call me, it would be hard to explain I in train..
I quickly set my electronics and down to serious serious mode work. Yet it only took my 3 hour time to complete a work that delayed 3 weeks.. I sent my design visual at 4.58pm.
